The Beginning
In 1988 I was the manager of a Natural Foods Co-op located on the mainland from Atlantic City. It had been started in the 1970's by Stockton State College students. And had grown into a bustling store serving restaurant owners, coastal residents, casino workers, surfers, and college students. One of them was the student director of Stockton State College's radio station. As I was ringing up his groceries one day he looked at me quizzically and said, "You do yoga and meditate, how about hosting a New Age radio show?" Little did I know that simple question would change my life. Here's where the story begins ...

This was an unexpected opportunity but I went with it. Saturday mornings I carried my albums and CDs up three flights of stairs to the broadcasting studio of WLFR and played the atmospheric sounds of New Age music. I learned how to operate a soundboard and talk on a microphone. And I fell in love with the creative aspect of deciding what songs to play and sharing them with listeners. Which led to the formation of two other radio shows on Stockton's station:
Happy Trails and House Party Blues ...
