In February 1990 I began my first job in commercial radio. It was part-time on weekends so I continued as manager of the Natural Foods Co-op. And still hosted my two weekly shows on Stockton's WLFR. Nevertheless, at the Classic Rock station I started to feel like I'd arrived where I was meant to be.

When I was growing up in the 1970s, listening to the radio was a way of life. I even held a transistor radio to my ear while watching TV after dinner with my family. Then when I went to bed, I'd stay up until midnight listening to Philadelphia's Rock station where legendary DJ Michael Tearson wove songs together like a work of art.

That is what came to my mind at the Classic Rock station when I overheard another DJ ask our boss where and when a certain Rolling Stones song was recorded (pre-internet). And I heard my boss reply, "Ask Bonnie, she'll know." Wow, finally all that time spent listening to the radio was useful.

So I decided it was time to make radio my career. And in October 1991, I landed my first full-time job as a Disc Jockey. And my life was about to get really KOOL ...
